Renowned artist and ceramicist Keiichi Tanaka reimagines the traditional ikebana display with this abstract Geometric Wall Vase.
Tanaka here casts the simple vase as an art object: Paired with foliage, it positions the natural world within our modernist society; without it, the vase stands alone as a stately work of art to be displayed year-round.

About Keiichi Tanaka
The work of Keiichi Tanaka stems from a lifelong fascination with the overlooked beauty of functional objects. Inspired by the visual poetry of agricultural implements, Tanaka creates rustic-yet-contemporary work that invokes an atmosphere of, as he puts it, "time accumulation" - the sense that an object could be equally at home in a long-ago past or a not-so-distant future. Tanaka has exhibited his art widely throughout Japan and Europe.
