Apple Limelight
A new variety of mid-season dessert apple bred in Kent, Apple Limelight is particularly suitable for home-growing and cold and wet areas. The fruit is medium to large, round, slightly flattened, and a clear yellowish-green; the flesh is crisp, tart and refreshing, with a pronounced ‘apple-y’ flavour. Small, attractive, reliable tree, upright and spreading, and easy to grow. Spur-bearer. Heavy cropper in good conditions. Apples ripen gradually from mid-September to late October, and will store for a few weeks. Disease-resistant tree, suitable for organic growing, though with some susceptibility to scab.
